Activities Programme

Mountain View employs a full time Activities Coordinator to plan and organise an ever changing Activities Programme designed to provide something for everyone. The weekly programme includes such things as exercise sessions, indoor and outdoor games, guest speakers and outings - just to name a few! We also have a Chaplain on staff who visits Residents regularly and is available for Residents and their families whenever needed. A church service is also held each Sunday afternoon. This is run by a different denomination each week and we also have Kaumatua visits.

Daycare and Meals

Our Day Care programme provides a break for carers. The elderly person attends our activities programme for the day or part of the day giving the Carer at home time to themselves with the security of knowing their loved one is in safe hands. They can also enjoy lunch with the other residents should they wish to do so. Often the Day Care programme is fully funded by the government.

Blokes’ Shed

The Bloke’s shed is a programme run by volunteers for men in the community living with dementia. It is available one day a week and the men do various wood work and handy man activities.
